How we make it

Eat Balanced

This is how we do it...

First, we find out what meals people really enjoy, but which are mostly not nutritionally balanced.  Essentially, your favourite foods that you feel a little bit guilty about.

We study a whole bunch of products and recipes to figure out where the meals are off balance - too high in some nutrients, too low in others.

Next, we take the ingredients and re-design the meal using the science-based guidelines for health which have been published by the UK Food Standards Agency.  Essentially, we make sure that about 30% of all the nutrients needed for a day are present in each meal, in the best proportions.

If necessary, we may add some new, natural ingredients to correct short-falls in the nutrient balance of the meal, whilst maintaining taste and texture.

We make up the recipes to make sure that they look and taste great.  They are made using traditional methods, with the bread base slowly fermented overnight, then the freshest, nutrient-packed ingredients are hand-applied on top of the fresh, ripe tomato sauce.  Yum!

Once we are happy with that batch, we re-analyse the actual cooked Eat Balanced meal, to check all the main nutrients are all still there for you when you are eating them - this isn't done very often my our competitors.

Finally, we get lots of ordinary people who value good food to taste the Eat Balanced meal, and check that it tastes as amazing as we can make it, before releasing it to the public.

And after that, we listen to feedback, and suggestions from consumers, to help us improve our Eat Balanced meals, and to design more for the future.

We really hope you like our products.  We've done it for you.  We put all the hard work in to making them, so that it makes it much easier for you!
